JUDGES 6:25-40 We find Gideon hiding in the winepress afraid of the Midianites. The angel of the Lord approaches him and declares that God has chosen him to lead Israel out of the oppression of Midian. Even still all that Gideon can do is complain about the situation. "Please, sir, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us?" (Judges 6:13) Before we judge this Judge too harshly, think about it. We often do the same. We are confronted with the Word of God, and before we can praise His name, we focus on life's difficulty and that comes out first. Well, Gideon was between a rock and a hard place. God had chosen him to be the answer to his own complaints. Even today God may be preparing you to stand up against all that you complain about and worry about. Isn't it funny how God will handpick someone who looks and feels unqualified to accomplish a task that seems impossible? Remember nothing is impossible with God, and you are the man God wants to use. |
