    Joshua 11:7-15
    As the Lord commanded Moses His servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua do everything; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded Moses.  Did you get that?  Do you see the flow?  God gives a commandment to Moses.  Moses, in turn, passes the commandment on to Joshua.  And Joshua obeys.  Is he obeying Moses or God?  He is obeying God.  What God said to Moses is still valid for Joshua.  God’s command to Moses requires Joshua’s obedient response.  The commandment doesn’t change as it passes from one generation to the next.
    But it simply amazes me how many times I hear believers say, “Well, that verse may mean that to you, but it doesn’t mean that to me.”  Really?  “Yes, you’re just one of those fundamentalist who takes the Bible literally.  I’m more of an intellectual.”  I see.  Let me tell you this: If you and I are looking at the same Bible verses and coming up with two different meanings, one of us is wrong.  And we’d better figure out quick which one of us it is.
