Singles - The Encounter Group
All Singles 18+

Meets Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. at the ABC Office (Great Room)

The Encounter Group is the post college and career aged gathering sponsored through Antioch Bible Church.

Who is it for? For those interested in pursuing and encountering Truth. So no matter where you are on your spiritual Journey, you are welcome. So learn at your own pace. Ask questions. Seek. We believe you will find what you are looking for.

You don't have to dress up. You don't have to have a particular belief. We couldn't care less who you voted for in the last election. And please don't feel the need to pretend anything.

God declares in His Word that the marriage commitment is to be holy, unbreakable, and to reflect the relationship that Jesus has with the Church. Because this is God's view, it is also the view which we take at Antioch, and the standard which we strongly seek to uphold. It is our desire to build enduring and God-honoring marriage relationships, and so we offer the following ministries:

Married

Premarital counseling
This is mandatory for any marriages performed at Antioch.

Marriage Counseling
There are also opportunities for counseling with pastors about marriage difficulties.

Marriage & Relationships Seminar
From time to time, Pastor Ken Hutcherson holds a weekend Marriage Relationship Seminar which hundreds of couples and interested singles have found immensely helpful and encouraging. Recordings of this seminar are available through the ABC Office.

Newly Marrieds
For couples married less than about 7 years, the Newly Married Ministry is a great choice. Along with the Sunday morning class, there are fellowship, service, and support activities.

Mo' Marriage
For those married over about 7 years, the Mo' Marriage Ministry, like the Newly Married Ministry, offers opportunities to get to know and share with others through class time and other activities.

Elective Classes
Often affecting the marriage relationship are financial and parenting issues. Our elective classes address these in ways that can help strengthen marriages.

Love and Respect class
One of the most helpful electives for married couples is the Love and Respect class. Every couple should go through this class at least once!

Finally, the Men's and Women's Ministries at Antioch often address marriage issues in classes and retreats.

Our prayer is that your marriage prospers and grows and
is a wonderful witness to God's power and faithfulness!

Our Mission
Our mission is to equip parents to raise morally righteous, biblically responsive children. We do this primarily via video-based training courses and suggested reading material in an interactive class environment.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it."
-- Proverbs 22:6

Ministry Profile
The five goals of our ministry are:
1. To raise a godly generation to the glory of God and not to the glory of man.
2. To provide practical instruction that will help parents understand not only the principles of biblical ethics but how to make the application as well.
3. To instill confidence in each and every parent who participates in any of the programs; a confidence that God's Word is sufficient both in truth and practice. With confidence comes competency in parenting.
4. To help families look positively toward the teen years. Parenting should be a tremendous experience and if God's standards are maintained, the teen years can be among the best.
5. Finally, we desire to capture the hearts and minds of the next generation by establishing a biblical mindset for parenting that can be passed on from generation to generation.

Our curriculum, resources and tools come from two primary sources: Growing Families International and Focus on the Family and targets parents with children from newborn to the teenage years. See our classes by title or classes by age pages for more details.
