Testimonies
zhuTestimony of Max Zhu, at his Baptism, August 2011

I am from China. China is a country of atheists, and I was one of them. I believed in evolution. I believed I was turned into a human being from a monkey and I am just a container of a gene, without emotions, or relationships. I hurt my Mom & Dad by saying, “Don’t miss me, because I’m just your descendent, your path through a gene to make a human being in evolution.” This really hurt them. I want to say I’m sorry to them. Thank God for letting me know this.

I want to share the Nobel Prize speech by John Nash in 1994. “I’ve always believed in numbers, equations and logic that led to reason. But after a lifetime of pursuit I ask - What truly is logic? Who decides reason? My quest has taken me through the physical, metaphysical, delusional and back. I have made the most important discovery of my career, the most important discovery of my life. It’s only in the mysterious equations of love that any logic or reason can be found. God, I am only here today because of You. You are the reason I am, You are all my reasons.”

THANK YOU JESUS!

Prayer Ministry
Pastors and Staff
The pastors and staff of Antioch are committed to praying for the needs of the congregation every week. Prayer requests that come in each Sunday are dispersed to the appropriate pastor to devote special time of prayer, and if needed contact the requester.

Prayer Teams
In addition, we have prayer teams that also pray for your needs each Sunday morning during the services. We also have prayer teams that meet bi-monthly on Thursday evenings to pray for the needs of our congregation. If you are carrying a burden and require special prayer, elders and pastors are available to pray for you. Submit your prayer requests here.

Checklist for Victorious Prayer Life

1) Are all your sins confessed that you are aware of?
Isaiah 59:1-2 Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.
I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and wilol forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

2) Are your relationships with others right?
Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

3) Are you seeking His Will?
I John 5:14-15 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him.

4) Are you seeking to glorify God?
John 14:13-14 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

5) Are you depending on the Holy Spirit's leading?
Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
I Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

6) Are you trusting God in spite of what seems to be?
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

7) Are you praising God no matter what?
Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
I Thessalonians 5:16-18 Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Community Outreach
Dinners At Antioch
Dinners At Antioch is a monthly gathering of church members and visitors in individual homes. Hosted by Antioch families, other families and visitors are invited and encouraged to share a meal and time of fellowship. These dinners are held monthly on the second Sunday of each month and are designed to build a growing community of believers who encourage each other in our Christian walk through fellowship and sharing.

Military Support
If you have a relative or friend currently serving in the military, please let us know. We at Antioch desire to honor those who serve in the military with our deep gratitude. We would like to acknowledge their service by posting their name on an overhead on Sunday mornings. In addition, we have a prayer team who regularly prays for our servicepeople. If you know of some in the military that you would like us to support in prayer, please call the ABC Office at 425-556-5905.

Pastoral Care
Visitation
Antioch pastors are available to visit those in the hospital or confined to their home to pray for you and encourage you in your time of illness. Please call the ABC Office at 425-556-5905 and ask for the Pastor of the Day.

Meals
We endeavor to provide meals for those who need assistance due to major illness, birth of a baby, hospitalization, death in the family, etc. Every effort will be made to account for allergies or special needs.

Special Events
Baby Dedication
At Antioch we believe in baby dedication, not baby baptism. Baptism is for believers, and babies have not yet made that decision. Baby dedication is a vow of commitment on the part of the parents and their earnest desire to see that one day their child will come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Children are a gift from God and by dedicating them to the Lord, parents are committing the life of their child completely to the Lord. Antioch typically performs baby dedications during our celebration services held four times per year. For more information or if you are interested in having your baby dedicated, please contact Joe Meek.

Baptism
Baptism is for those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and desire to publicly display His transformation in their lives as a testimony of their identification with the body of Christ and obedience to the Word of God. Antioch typically performs baptisms during our celebration services held four times per year. For more information or to sign up for a baptism class, please contact Joe Meek.

Special Services
Antioch holds special services throughout the year for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. To find out specific dates and times see calendar.

All Church BBQ
Join us twice a year as we celebrate at the June BBQ and August BrothaQ.

Weddings/Funerals
Antioch pastors are available to conduct marriage ceremonies and can help coordinate funeral arrangements and memorial services. For more information call the church office at 425-556-5905.

Butterfly Ministry
Butterfly Ministry is a support group for parents who have lost a child. As fellow parents who have lost children, we understand the journey you are facing. We are here to provide support for parents, friends and family and to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on. Our desire is to walk alongside you and to remember and honor your child's life. On the second Sunday of December, we hold our annual Remembrance Service to honor the lives of these children. For more information contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Relationships
Pre-Marriage Counseling
We provide an 8-10 week program for couples considering marriage, including counseling, testing, books as well as group classes with other couples.

The first step is for you and your fiancée (or girlfriend – no need to actually be engaged) to come in and meet with Pastor Mark. After the initial interview, you'll begin the pre-marriage process with either Pastor Mark or the marrying pastor. This usually takes 2 to 3 meetings and you'll do personality tests, recommended reading, etc.

Once that's complete, we then have a pre-marriage class that consists of 3 to 4 couples and is taught by a mature married couple. There's lots of interaction and you discuss anything and everything involving marriage. They normally meet on Sunday afternoons and the class lasts about 8 weeks.

The only other stipulations for those participating in the pre-marriage program is you must both be believers or both be non-believers and not living together. If either party is divorced, see Divorce/Remarriage Policy or call Pastor Mark with any questions. Contact us to set up an appointment to begin the process.

Marriage Counseling
Marriage is the oldest and most beautiful relationships in the Bible. Right from the beginning, Satan has tried to distort and destroy this relationship. At Antioch, we endeavor through the Word and encouragement to help tear down the walls that can divide couples. We are all in process and sometimes need help along the way. At Antioch we help by way of marriage conferences, retreats, classes and counseling to help restore couples to healthy relationships.

Counseling
We provide both internal counseling for various issues as well as providing referrals to professional counselors as needed.

Community Care
The Lord instructs us to love and care for one another. At Antioch Bible Church we are dedicated to caring for our congregation and coming alongside those in need to assist in navigating the challenges of life.

Mark Webster
Pastor Mark began his first full time ministry after graduation from seminary in July 1976 at Westminster Chapel. It was there he met Pastor Hutch and began ministry together and started Antioch Bible Church in 1984. Mark has been the Executive Pastor in charge of Congregational Care at Antioch Bible Church for the last 25 years.

In the summer of 1980 the bachelor pad that was home to Mark and Hutch acquired a new roommate as Mark married his wife Linda and it was out with the old and in with the new. Pastor Hutch moved out and the pad underwent its first of 2 remodels along with the addition of 4 daughters: Ruth, Elizabeth, Araenae and Joni.

Mark and Linda have had the opportunity to travel to Russia, Germany, Italy, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Canada and many parts of the U.S., investing in ministry for the Lord. Pastor Mark's kindness and compassion has touched many lives as Pastor of Congregational Care at Antioch, often visiting those in the hospital, reaching out to people in need, and comforting people in time of grief.

They have now seen all the girls grow up and move out of the home. Their youngest daughter Joni graduated from Washington State University in May of 2009.

Side hobbies for Pastor Mark include beekeeping, gardening, fishing and his yearly duck hunt. He and wife Linda love to cook and have people over to their home. Both love to teach and have small groups and home fellowship groups in their home.
