Kela Hughes called home on Friday, February 15, 2008

kela_hughes.png

Kela Hughes was on her way to work at ABC Missions Office when God took her home to heaven.  Her dad, Pastor David, had driven back home to try and find her when he encountered the accident.  The Lord gave him 15 very precious minutes with his daughter, who had already passed, before her body was taken away.  While the family is left in shock and unspeakable grief, they are also praising God and rejoicing in a life that ended well.

Not only did Kela administrate the Missions department, but she also had an incredible ministry with the high school girls, always directing their problems to the One who had all the answers.  On her last entry of her journal, she had listed some of the girls, and some problems they were dealing with, and her prayers for them.  She had also listed her concerns with things she was dealing with in Missions, itineraries of mission trips, and other various administrative difficulties.  But Kela was very strong in her faith, and knew that nothing was too difficult for God to handle.

Please be patient and also pray as the family plans and prepares for the Memorial Service, and then travels together to Hawaii to be with family, and to say goodbye to Kela on her favorite beach.  Also pray for them on their return, as they try to pick up the pieces of the job that Kela did so well.

Schnaidt Family
New Life Bible College
Moscow, Russia

Steve and Kathy have been teaching and administrating a two-year Bible College in Moscow, Russia. They have been working with New Life Bible College for thirteen years to prepare Russian believers to become pastors, church planters, missionaries, elders and lay leaders in new and existing churches. Their goal within the Russian and expatriate community is to lead Russians and people of all nationalities to a saving knowledge of Christ and to train them to become multiplying disciples of Christ. Please pray that God would expand the borders of their ministry, would reveal new and creative ideas for evangelism, and that He would lead them to new resource materials.
