New Creation Prison Ministry

Most Missionaries from the Northwest don't sound like an Ozark Hillbilly, but our resident Ozark Mountain, Hillbilly is, Freddie Cantrell. He has chosen to go to jail so he could tell young people there the truth of the bible, and that they could have something to compare with the lie they had been living. Freddie is either going to jail or coming from it and he enjoys it; believe it or not the kids listen to a Hillbilly.

This ministry began in 1995 to the Youth Facilities in Washington State.  We expanded in 1998 to include the County Jails of, King and Snohomish County.  We again expanded to Issaquah City Jail in 2002.  We hold Chapel Services, Bible Studies and One on One Counseling on a weekly basis.  Approximately 2500 inmates have prayed to accept Jesus Christ through this Ministry.  We covet your prayers and support to broaden our borders to include a safe house for the inmates after they are released.

Wycliffe Bible Translators

Ray was born and raised in Southern California, and was saved by God while at UCLA. He joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 1989. While pursuing their Masters degrees in Linguistics Ray met his wife, Teryl. Teryl is a missionary kid whose father was a jungle pilot in southern Mexico. She is a graduate of Multnomah Bible College in Portland, OR.
Ray and Teryl left for Russia in February, 1993. They were Bible Translators and Exegetical Advisors for the Chuvash people, a group of about 2 million people who live 350 miles east of Moscow. It was a privilege to help translate and publish the four Gospels into Chuvash, lead their Chuvash co-worker to Christ, and train him to take over their responsibilities after 5 years. The entire New Testament is now finished and scheduled to be published in 2007! After returning to the US, Ray and Teryl served Wycliffe as recruiters in the Seattle area before accepting the role of Regional Director in the Southeast.
Ray now works for a part of Wycliffe called The Seed Company, which seeks to find resources for national (indigenous) Bible translators. They currently live in Atlanta with their three boys. Even after leaving the field, their focus remains on the 2300 people groups who do not have God's Word in their own language.

Florence, Italy
Campus Crusade for Christ

Nicole has been working with Campus Crusade for Christ for the past ten years doing campus ministry. After spending two years on a short term team in Florence the Lord put yet another desire in her heart for Italy, this time one that was a little closer to home. She saw in her first two years in Italy, that although churches abound in Italy (you cannot almost walk a whole block without finding a church or chapel of some kind) and Jesus is painted or represented in both art galleries and places of worship alike, He is virtually absent from the hearts of many Italians. There is knowledge of Jesus, but there is no depth of personal relationship.

What drew her heart back to Italy after two long and difficult years, was a desire to help Italian students find the Jesus they have never known. Now back in Italy long term, she is the Associate Campus Director at the University of Florence and is also giving leadership on our National Campus team. They fervently pray and desire above all things that Italian students will come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and follow Him for a lifetime.  If you would like to join in praying for a movement there in Italy Nicole would love to have you pray for two specific things. First please pray that as they share the gospel with students that the Lord through His Holy Spirit would cause students to realize that the gospel we are proclaiming is not a religious system, but a personal faith in Christ. Secondly, would you please pray for the campus staff; they have seen that it is hard to get laborers to come and that it is also hard to have laborers stay.

Fred, Linda, and their two sons, Josh and Joe, were born in Texas. Fred and Linda met while attending college in Nacogdoches, Texas. While Fred was working as a forester in Louisiana, they felt that they should consider full time Christian ministry. After counseling with friends and their pastor they enrolled in Multnomah Bible College. Eventually Fred completed his studies at Dallas Seminary. Following seminary they pastored a church in Iowa and then planted a church in Oklahoma.

In 1986 Fred and Linda were the first missionaries that Antioch sent out. They have worked in various ministries in the church and continue to represent Antioch in Germany. Their ministry is to help Germans plant churches. Fred and Linda, with the Lord's guidance and help, have planted two growing churches in Germany as well as having counseled many church leaders and their wives. They have helped hundreds of Germans to understand how to plant churches and how to win people for Christ.

Ron and Sandra both grew up in the Pacific Northwest and attended Western Seminary in Portland, OR. Local Church ministry has been important in their lives together since their marriage in 1983. Ron has served with the Antioch pastoral staff, preached, led seminars in various churches, and taught at a seminary. Sandra has served as a professional therapist, both in an executive capacity and in private practice. While in the midst of ministry and career planning back in 1989, they received a letter from a friend challenging them to pray about ministry in Belgium. They prayed and sought wisdom from others; they became convinced this was the direction God wanted them to take. They have now lived and ministered in Belgium for the past 12 years.
Ron teaches at the Evangelical Theological Faculty near Leuven, Belgium and at Tyndale Theological Seminary near Amsterdam, Netherlands. These international seminaries help train church leaders, teachers and pastors from all over the world. Sandra is engaged in Bible study training, discipleship, and leadership development and counseling ministries. Ron also serves with regular preaching, and helps provide preaching training.

Steve and Kathy both grew up in church-going families but truly dedicated their lives to Christ in college. God changed their lives personally and gave them a desire to use their gifts and talents to help others know Him too. After college they became missionaries to college students on U.S. campuses. When the opportunity came for a short-term summer mission project, both Kathy and Steve answered God's call. It was there that they met and served three years in the Philippines. From there they served in South Korea and back to the United States to continue work on the JESUS Film Project. God then called them to teach and administrate a two-year Bible College in Moscow, Russia. They have been working with the Bible College for eleven years to prepare Russian believers to become pastors, church planters, missionaries, elders and lay leaders in new and existing churches. Their goal within the Russian and ex-patriot community is to lead Russians and people of all nationalities to a saving knowledge of Christ and to train them to become multiplying  disciples of Christ.

Marie has traveled to several countries collecting feedback and ideas for the new Women's Film. She had the privilege of speaking at a CCFC area-wide conference in Turkey in March. There were many concerns expressed about how the film will be received and distributed in such closed countries.

She shares a story of one woman's influence in her country: "A staff woman developed a friendship with a woman named Fatima (not her real name) in her neighborhood. Fatima began to ask many questions about the staff woman's life and noticed her strong faith. The staff woman continued to share with her and gave her a bible as a gift. Fatima could not read, so she asked her young daughter to read to her. She came to know the Lord, and so did her daughter, and eventually so did her husband! What an influence one woman can have!"

Visual Story Network
www.visualstorynetwork.blogspot.com

Considering their backgrounds, a couple decades ago you might not have foreseen what Clyde and Shirin Taber do today. In college, Clyde describes himself as "a pagan fraternity boy," before coming to Christ; while Shirin is a direct descendent of the Prophet Mohammed, founder of Islam.

For the last 20 plus years they served as staff members of Campus Crusade for Christ International. On three continents, they witnessed to and made disciples among college students. Clyde also coordinated the Emerging Generations Strategy Team at The JESUS Film Project. Recently, God called them to lead another ministry.

Taking that knowledge of how visual media impacts our youth, Clyde now heads up Visual Story Network, an organization that's mission is to "engage the lost world with Jesus through a global visual story movement". Their goal is to equip organizations and churches with visual stories, in multiple media formats, that will connect people with where they live and breathe in order to point them to Christ.

Hellenic Ministries
www.hmnet.org

Lahela (Hughes) Tagaroulias is working as the international administrative assistant to the director of Hellenic Ministries (HM) in Athens, Greece. HM exists to bring the truth of the gospel to light in a land that has once had it. Her first experience with missions was during her sophomore year of high school when she went on a mission trip to Ensenada, Mexico. It was there that she knew the Lord wanted her to be involved in missions. She didn't know quite how or where, but just that He had begun to plant His passion for the nations within her.

Lahela was just married on January 27th to Babis Tagaroulias. After they return to Greece, she will continue her current work with Hellenic Ministries. Please be in prayer for Lahela and Babis that they will continually seek favor in the eyes of the Lord. Also pray for the sports camps that HM puts on every summer that God will reach the hearts of the youth, and for the bondage in Greece to be broken.

YWAM

Doug grew up in Bellevue and began attending Antioch Bible Church back in 1990. Friends at Antioch introduced Doug to Campus Crusade for Christ the following year, and after joining them for an outreach in 1992 to Osaka, Japan, Doug became hooked on overseas missions. He continued to join CCC on their summer outreach projects, and began praying for an open door to go fulltime.

In 2003 that guidance came as a call to help out a growing base that YWAM had established in Bangkok, Thailand, right across the street from a huge university. It was the perfect opportunity to use his software and media skills to help their vision of reaching out to youth through music and video and to also use his years of skills in connecting with university students for friendship evangelism.

Doug has now been fulltime missionary with YWAM in Bangkok for several years and has enjoyed the fruits of building up Thais in their Christian life to pursue their dreams in multimedia. Thais have little access to Christian materials thus, content created in Thai language, is key to generating a multiplying effect. Doug has already helped one Thai in video technology, who was recently hired by a news television station in Bangkok. Another Thai, a musician he has discipled for several years, has been involved in a Thai Christian album projects, training seminars, and many live performances.  Please pray for more Thais to have a large and bold vision to reach their nation.

Follow  Your  Call and
The Cross Ministry Group

Eric and Alisa met on the plane going on a mission trip to the Philippines with Campus Crusade for Christ in 1990. The next summer at their staff training in Fort Collins they started dating. At that time Alisa was serving with CCC in Boston with Student Venture and Eric was in Houston with SV. They got married in Seattle in May of 1992 and Alisa joined Eric in Texas.

For 17 years they worked with high school students through Student Venture (the High School outreach of Campus Crusade for Christ). They are now serving with The Cross Ministry Group, which aims to point people to the cross through different events; and also with Follow Your Call, a ministry that reaches people by being their "Life Coaches".

They have four children: David, Danielle, Joy, and Anna. Please pray that they continue to come to know Jesus deeper each day and that His love for them would continue to shape their family. Also pray that those they come in contact with would come to know Him and make Him known.
